FAQ
Common questions
Answers about our 18 calculators, Budget 2026-27 rates, and how Milkiyat Tax works.
Are these official FBR amounts?+
No. Milkiyat Tax provides estimates aligned with Budget 2026-27 schedules. Estimates only. Not legal or tax advice. Verify all amounts with FBR, Excise & Taxation, and your Sub-Registrar before transfer.
What tax year are rates based on?+
The default active schedule is Tax Year 2026-27 (Budget 2026-27). The tax year badge on each calculator reflects the loaded schedule from our admin rate database or embedded defaults.
Do calculators work offline?+
Yes. Each calculator ships with embedded Budget 2026-27 defaults. If the API is unavailable, estimates still run instantly in your browser using those defaults.
What is filer vs late filer vs non-filer?+
Active taxpayers (filers) generally pay lower WHT and CGT rates. Late filers sit between filer and non-filer rates. Non-filers face the highest withholding and capital gains rates under FBR rules.
What happened to Section 7E?+
Section 7E deemed income tax on immovable property has been abolished under Budget 2026-27. Property calculators show an informational note only — no deemed-income line item is added.
How are rates updated?+
Rates are stored in an admin-editable tax schedule (JSON). When admins publish a new schedule, all calculators pick up the changes on the next page load — no app redeploy required for rate tweaks.
